Succeeding at University introduces you to learning in higher education and provides you with a framework for reflection and understanding of your own personal learning identity as well as tools for continuing educational success.
The module will cover how these marketing research instruments are designed and distributed. In addition to this, students will learn how to analyse the data that results from these research instruments. Through this module students will develop several research skills further aiding their academic ability and employability. Our Sports Management degree course opens the doors for you to enter a wide variety of management careers within the sports industry, from working for national governing bodies or running sports facilities to coaching, marketing or even education. This postgraduate course offers two study pathways depending on your background in these fields, covering advanced hospitality functions and the nature of the hospitality and tourism environments, with a residential visit and optional placement.
This interaction with industry employers means that many of our students secure full-time employment before they graduate. However, there are usually additional costs for travel and accommodation. Optional national and/or international study trips, typically during L4 and L5. These are mostly funded by students, costings are sourced from university-approved agents and will vary in-line with the current market and student numbers.

Loading Your Courses
There are fee implications if a student chooses to undertake a placement. A degree typically comprises 360 credits, a DipHE 240 credits, a CertHE 120 credits, and an integrated masters 480 credits. The tuition fee for the placement year for those courses that offer this option is £1,850, subject to inflationary increases based on government policy and providing you progress through the course in the normal timeframe . If students wish to print more, printer credit can be topped up by the student. The University and Student Union are champions of sustainability and we ask all our students to consider the environmental impact before printing. Our Reprographics team also offer printing and binding services, including dissertation binding which may be required by your course with an indicative cost of £1.50-£3.
During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into further education. You can go into employment onto a management training programme within a fashion retail company or progress into higher education onto an appropriate foundation degree or degree course. On successful completion, learners may gain employment, enhance their careers within a fashion business environment, start their own business or gain entry to a fashion-related degree at universities throughout Scotland.
Secondary Education: Gaelic Pgde
Students will respond to briefs (which may include industry / live briefs) developing fashion concepts from primary research and the design development process through to final prototype garments, specifications and professional portfolio projects. The briefs require exploration and innovation whilst also responding to defined markets and/or consumers. This unit builds on and extends the knowledge and skills developed in Fashion Cultures 1 and 2. Students have opportunity to specialise in an area of research within the framework of critical, contextual, cultural and/or industry contexts that aligns with their personal practice and career interests. 10 credits equates to 100 hours of study, which is a combination of lectures, seminars and practical sessions, and independent study. The exact composition of your study time and assessments for the course will vary according to your option choices and style of learning.

Students will investigate new markets, evolving environmental and social trends and developments in fashion retailing within the global fashion environment and through theoretical concepts and models.

SEA represents companies across the surface engineering supply chain from suppliers of specialty chemicals through to applicators of all types of surface coatings. AMDEA is working to ensure the continued supply of critical appliances and support to householders and the emergency services.
Featuring key industry-recognised standards for graduate practitioners, this course will prepare you for a range of rewarding careers working with young children. GCSE grade C/4 in English language or level 2 Equivalent qualifications (e.g. Functional Skills) may be considered. This unit provides core knowledge of the customer, and asks the question, why do we shop? It explores customer motivations, consumer cultures, the shopping journey, customer relationship marketing and the impact of sustainability on the process.
In a changing social and technological environment, traditional ways of running a business are under question and design thinking can bring about dynamic and creative solutions to solving complex or ‘wicked’ business problems. Through exploration of different contexts and case studies and by asking ‘what if? ’ this module stimulates and inspires students to build a valuable repertoire of knowledge and skills to take forward in their fashion career. This will include identifying considerations relating to sustainable or inclusive business models as outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goal 9.
